UK’s first urban mixed-use business park

What:

A major international business park.

Why:

Following decades of decline, to deliver the fundamental component of the economic regeneration of East Manchester, and to provide training and job opportunities for the local community.

How:

In 2001 a consortium led by Ask was appointed to work in a public:private partnership to deliver the UK’s first urban mixed-use business park.  With the capacity to create more than 1.4m sq ft of commercial floor space, Ask was responsible for the successful delivery of 700,000 sq ft over 5 phases in addition to a £35m dedicated transport interchange which is unique to Central Park.

We created:

• An office campus for Fujitsu 
• One Central Park, a centre for business enterprise, training and education 
• Madison Place, a village of 5 units attracting SMEs
• Two buildings for Greater Manchester Police: award winning Force Headquarters and Divisional Headquarters
