Vibrant shopping centre and apartments

What:

Redevelopment of Urmston Shopping Centre.

Why:

To meet the aspirations of the Council and local community by stemming an unsustainable level of retail spend leakage, and to provide new services, amenities and town centre living.

How:

Trafford Council appointed Ask to deliver its key objectives for Urmston Town Centre by creating a vibrant new shopping centre together with new city-style apartments.  The scheme was anchored by a Sainsbury’s supermarket and also included three large footfall generators offering a greater choice of shopping and other local amenities.  Eden Square significantly enhanced the town centre environment, spearheading the regeneration of the wider borough and attracting further investment in the town.

We created:

• A shopping centre comprising 18 retail units anchored by Sainsbury’s 
• 76 one and two bed apartments 
• Public library and contact centre
• A new public square for community events
• 600 space shoppers’ car park
