New mixed use town-centre quarter

What:

Town centre mixed use quarter successfully delivered via the innovative Askbury Developments LLP.

Why:

To meet the Council’s regeneration strategy for the development of the town centre, to capture investment and drive maximum advantage whilst providing the town with a range of new public services and facilities.

How:

Bury Council and Ask entered into an innovative Limited Liability Partnership known as Askbury Developments LLP which acted as an umbrella arrangement to allow non-operational Council owned sites across the Borough to be introduced into the JV and unlock best value for the Council.  The achievement of this public:private partnership was the successful delivery of a new mixed use quarter in the town centre, providing a wide range of public services and facilities.  

We created:

• Offices for Bury Council and Six Town Housing
• Primary Care Centre
• 115 bed Premier Inn hotel
• 400 space multi storey car park
• Public realm
